The approach
A backup nobody has ever tried to restore is not really a backup, it is a folder that used to get copied somewhere and might still be running. A single external drive sitting next to the server is not protected from the fire, flood or ransomware note that also takes out the server.
We install a backup agent on every machine that matters and send encrypted copies off site on a schedule that fits your day, with retention set far enough back to actually be useful. Then we run an actual restore and time it, write down who does what in a recovery plan, and check every month that the backups are still running, not just that the job was scheduled. If a drive has already failed, we also do data rescue, quoted separately once we have seen it.

- How is this different from Dropbox or Google Drive?
- Those sync files you are actively editing; they do not back up your whole system, they do not keep history far enough back to survive ransomware that encrypts the synced copy too, and nobody is checking that they are actually running. This backs up entire machines and servers on a schedule, with someone verifying it monthly.
- How fast can we be back up after a failure?
- It depends on how much data and what failed, which is why we run and time a real restore up front instead of guessing. You get an actual number written into the recovery plan, not a promise.
- Can you recover data from a drive that already died?
- Often, yes, though it depends on how the drive failed. We quote data rescue per case once we have looked at the drive, and we tell you honestly if the recovery odds are poor before you spend money chasing it.
